Brigham Young University's athletic program operates across 17 varsity sports from its Provo, Utah campus, which enrolls 37,205 students and was established in 1875. The Cougars compete in the Big 12 Conference at the Football Bowl Subdivision level, a significant move from their independent status that reflects the program's growing national prominence.
