ABOUT MARSHALL

Huntington, West Virginia's flagship institution has operated as a Division I-FBS program since 1997, when Marshall University made the jump to the highest level of college football. The university, established in 1837, now fields 17 varsity sports across a 12,318-student enrollment, competing in the Sun Belt Conference with programs spanning football, basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis, and Olympic sports. The program has established itself within Sun Belt Conference competition, where Marshall shares conference membership with institutions across the southeastern and south-central United States. With facilities supporting swimming and diving, golf, lacrosse, and volleyball alongside the revenue sports, Marshall continues developing student-athletes across gender-diverse opportunities within its athletics structure.
