PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Located in the northern Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 4,757 feet, Montana State University draws 17,165 students to its Bozeman campus founded in 1893. The Bobcats women's swimming and diving program competes as a Big Sky Conference member during the winter season, representing one of the conference's most geographically isolated athletic programs. Big Sky Conference competition requires significant travel for the program, with meets spanning across the western United States from conference rivals in California to institutions throughout the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West regions.

Montana State's swimming and diving team operates from facilities supporting the university's aquatic tradition across both competitive and recreational settings. The program maintains a full roster competing in sprint freestyle events, distance events, breaststroke, backstroke, individual medley, diving disciplines, and relay competitions throughout the collegiate season. As part of a Big Sky Conference that prioritizes mid-major competition, the Bobcats participate in a conference championship meet that determines postseason qualifications and all-conference honors for swimmers and divers meeting NCAA qualifying standards.
