CALIFORNIA GAUCHOS MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

UC Santa Barbara's men's cross country program competes within the Big West Conference, a league that spans the western United States and includes eight competing institutions. Founded in 1891, UCSB serves a student body of 26,133 and fields its Gaucho cross country team during the fall season from its Santa Barbara location along California's Central Coast. The program trains and races across the diverse terrain available throughout Santa Barbara County, utilizing both coastal and inland running routes that prepare athletes for the varied elevation changes found in conference and regional competitions.

Competing at the NCAA Division I level, the Gauchos represent one of the university's 19 varsity sports and contribute to UCSB's broader athletic mission within a mid-sized research institution.
