ABOUT LOUISVILLE

Located in Kentucky's largest city, the University of Louisville fields 17 varsity teams competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference after joining in 2014. Founded in 1798, the university enrolls 24,123 students who support a comprehensive athletic program spanning football, basketball, and numerous Olympic sports across men's and women's competitions. The Cardinals compete at the Division I FBS level, with football and basketball serving as the flagship programs that drive the institution's national visibility.

Louisville basketball achieved one of college sports' most significant accomplishments when the men's team won the national championship in 2013 under head coach Rick Pitino, cementing the program's place among elite programs.
