ABOUT SOUTH ALABAMA

Located in Mobile, Alabama, South Alabama began competing as a Division I program in 1993 and joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2012, establishing itself among competitive FBS institutions. With an enrollment of 13,768 students across the main campus, the university fields 17 varsity sports that compete under the Jaguar banner. The program's infrastructure supports both men's and women's athletics across traditional team sports like football, basketball, and soccer, alongside Olympic sports including swimming, tennis, and cross country.

South Alabama's athletic department manages a balanced roster of 17 sports that reflects significant investment in gender equity, with women's programs in basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, swimming and diving, cross country, golf, and tennis complementing nine men's sports.
