FAIRFIELD STAGS SOFTBALL

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Fairfield University's softball program competes as a Division I member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, representing a student body of 6,864 across the Connecticut campus established in 1942. The Stags compete during the spring season at their home venue, fielding a roster that balances competitive play with the academic mission of a Jesuit institution. Playing in the MAAC conference places Fairfield among 14 institutions competing for conference championships while maintaining the balance between athletics and academics that characterizes the league's philosophy.

Competing in the Northeast region, Fairfield softball operates within the constraints and opportunities of a mid-major Division I conference. The program draws from the university's surrounding area and beyond to build a competitive roster across the spring season schedule. Like other MAAC programs, Fairfield navigates the demands of conference play against schools including Iona, Saint Peter's, and Canisius while developing student-athletes who represent Fairfield's educational values and athletic aspirations in NCAA competition.
