ABOUT FLORIDA GULF COAST

Nestled in Fort Myers, Florida Gulf Coast University fields 13 varsity sports across the ASUN Conference as one of the nation's youngest NCAA Division I programs, having been established in 1991 with a current enrollment of 16,633 students. The Eagles compete across both men's and women's athletics, fielding teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, tennis, soccer, volleyball, and swimming & diving that represent the university's relatively recent ascension to the FBS level. FGCU's athletic department serves a rapidly growing student body in Southwest Florida's competitive collegiate landscape.

The Eagles' 13-sport portfolio reflects an ambitious athletic mission for an institution that began sponsoring NCAA Division I athletics just over three decades ago. Women's sports are well-represented with eight teams including soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, golf, swimming & diving, and cross country, while men's programs span baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, and tennis. FGCU's membership in the ASUN Conference provides regional competition and conference championships across multiple sports.

Athletes at Florida Gulf Coast compete under the direction of the university's athletics administration at venues throughout the Fort Myers area. The program's development trajectory since the early 1990s reflects the institution's growth from a regional Florida university into a comprehensive NCAA Division I athletic competitor with championship aspirations across its full complement of sports.
