OHIO BOBCATS WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Ohio University's women's swimming and diving program represents one of the oldest athletic traditions at a campus established in 1804, making it the first university founded northwest of the Ohio River. The Bobcats compete in the Mid-American Conference during the winter season, drawing from a student body of 24,937 across the Athens campus. Competing in NCAA Division I, the program trains year-round to balance both the technical precision required in diving and the endurance demands of distance swimming events.

The team operates within Ohio University's broader athletic infrastructure, which supports 17 varsity sports across multiple conferences. Women's swimming and diving athletes train alongside their male counterparts, sharing facility resources and coaching expertise while maintaining separate competitive rosters. The program recruits regionally and nationally, with swimmers and divers competing in events ranging from the 50-yard freestyle sprint to the 1,650-yard distance races, plus platform and springboard diving competitions that test both athletic ability and artistic execution in synchronized movements.
