CALIFORNIA TRITONS WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

UC San Diego's women's swimming and diving program competes as part of the Big West Conference, representing one of California's younger flagship universities established in 1960 in La Jolla. The Tritons host their home meets at the university's aquatic facilities while drawing from a student body of 46,178 across the campus's six colleges. As a Division I program operating during the winter season, the team balances competitive swimming and diving events across the conference schedule.

The program trains year-round to develop proficiency across sprint and distance freestyle events, individual medley competitions, and backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly specialties, alongside platform and springboard diving disciplines. Big West Conference competition requires UC San Diego to face conference rivals across California and the Mountain West region throughout the season. The Tritons' roster includes scholarship athletes recruited from regional and national qualifying standards, with swimmers and divers working under a dedicated coaching staff focused on NCAA qualifying times and academic excellence in tandem.
