Nestled in New Rochelle, New York, Iona University operates 13 varsity sports across the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with an enrollment of 4,041 students supporting its athletic programs since the institution's founding in 1940. The Gaels compete in men's basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, and tennis alongside women's programs in basketball, soccer, volleyball, cross country, golf, swimming and diving, and tennis, creating a comprehensive athletic portfolio for a mid-sized Division I institution.

Iona's athletics program maintains a competitive presence within the MAAC, one of the Northeast's most established collegiate athletic conferences.
