IONA GAELS WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Iona University's women's swimming and diving program competes as a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference member from its New Rochelle, New York campus, which serves 4,041 students across the university founded in 1940. The Gaels operate their home facility within the institution's athletic complex, hosting dual meets and conference championship competitions throughout the winter season. As a Division I program within MAAC, Iona fields competitive rosters across freestyle, individual medley, breaststroke, and diving events, competing against regional and conference opponents from October through March.

The program recruits swimmers and divers who meet both NCAA Division I standards and Iona's academic requirements, building depth across distance, sprint, and technical specialty events. Conference competition provides consistent scheduling against other MAAC institutions, with championship opportunities at the conference meet typically held in February. Iona's athletic facilities and coaching staff support year-round development, combining in-season competition with strength and conditioning programs designed to improve times and technical proficiency throughout the calendar year.
