PURDUE UNIVERSITY FORT WAYNE MASTODONS MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Purdue University Fort Wayne fields a men's cross country program in its inaugural Division I era as a relatively young institution, having been established just in 2018 with a current enrollment of 8,298 students. Competing in the Horizon League during the fall season, the Mastodons program represents one of the newer entries into NCAA Division I cross country. The Fort Wayne campus operates its cross country program through coaching staff dedicated to establishing competitive standards in a conference that includes established programs across the Midwest and Great Lakes region.

As a program in its early stages of Division I competition, Purdue Fort Wayne's men's cross country team builds its foundation in the Horizon League, which features 10 member institutions competing across multiple sports. The Mastodons compete for conference positioning and postseason opportunities while developing roster depth and recruiting pipelines typical of emerging Division I programs. Fort Wayne's location in northeast Indiana provides the program with access to regional recruiting territory and opportunities to compete against peer institutions in one of the more competitive mid-level Division I conferences nationwide.
