PURDUE UNIVERSITY FORT WAYNE MASTODONS MEN'S TENNIS

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Purdue University Fort Wayne launched its NCAA Division I athletics program in 2018, making the Mastodons one of the newest institutional entries into collegiate sports. The men's tennis team competes in the Horizon League during a spring season, representing a student body of 8,298 at the Fort Wayne campus. As a recently established program, the team operates under the mandate to develop competitive infrastructure while building a roster capable of competing at the Division I level within the Horizon League's established framework.

Building a Division I tennis program from its foundation required Mastodons staff to construct recruiting pipelines and establish training protocols at a campus that had previously operated at lower NCAA levels. The spring-season format aligns with most collegiate tennis schedules, allowing players to condition through the fall and compete from January through April. With the program's 2018 inception, Purdue Fort Wayne's men's tennis team remains in its developmental phases, focusing on roster growth and competitive advancement within a conference that includes institutions like Milwaukee, Youngstown State, and Wright State.
