PROGRAM OVERVIEW

University of St. Thomas began competing in NCAA Division I athletics in 2018, joining the Summit League as the conference's newest member after 133 years of Division III competition. Located in St. Paul with an enrollment of 9,445 students, the Tommies brought their softball program into the FCS ranks during this transition, building from a foundation established in 1885 when the institution was founded. The program competes in spring season format typical of Summit League competitors, playing within a conference that spans eight states across the Upper Midwest and Mountain West regions.

St. Thomas softball operates from its home venue in the Twin Cities area, drawing from Minnesota's strong athletic culture.
