NEW ORLEANS PRIVATEERS WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

University of New Orleans fields its women's swimming and diving program from a campus of 5,200 students in Louisiana's largest city, competing in the Southland Conference during the winter season. Founded in 1956, the university has built its athletic program alongside the institution's growth as a public research university serving the Gulf Coast region. The Privateers represent one of the few Division I swimming programs in the state, giving swimmers from Louisiana and surrounding areas access to collegiate competition without leaving the region.

Swimming and diving at UNO operates within the competitive structure of the Southland Conference, which includes programs across Texas, Louisiana, and surrounding states. The program recruits student-athletes who balance academic demands at a university emphasizing STEM and professional disciplines with the rigorous training schedule required for competitive collegiate swimming. Winter season competition allows the team to prepare through fall training before facing conference opponents during the traditional college swimming calendar.
