TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY VAQUEROS WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Located in Edinburg, Texas, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley fields a women's cross country program within the Southland Conference as part of its Division I-FCS athletics portfolio. Founded in 2013 through the merger of the University of Texas-Pan American and UT Brownsville, the institution serves 35,812 students across its Rio Grande Valley campuses. The Vaqueros compete during the fall season, representing one of the newest entries into NCAA Division I competition in Texas.

Operating within the Southland Conference framework, the program competes against regional rivals while building its competitive infrastructure in one of the nation's most underserved athletic markets. UTRGV's cross country team participates in a sport emphasizing distance running excellence, where athletes train across the challenging terrain of South Texas.
