TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY VAQUEROS WOMEN'S TENNIS

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's women's tennis program competes in the Southland Conference as part of a relatively young athletic department established when the institution formed in 2013 through a merger of two regional universities. The Vaqueros represent Edinburg, Texas, a city in the Rio Grande Valley that serves as home to over 35,812 students across the main campus. Operating during the spring season format common to Conference USA and Southland Conference scheduling, the program provides competitive opportunities for student-athletes within the fastest-growing region of Texas.

The Vaqueros compete within an NCAA Division I framework that emphasizes regional representation and athletic development in South Texas. UTRGV's women's tennis team participates in one of the most geographically diverse conferences in Division I, competing against programs stretching from Texas through Louisiana.
