TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY VAQUEROS MEN'S TENNIS

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Located in Edinburg, Texas, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley fielded its first athletic teams in 2013 following the merger of the University of Texas–Pan American and UT Brownsville, establishing the Vaqueros as one of Division I's youngest programs. The institution serves 35,812 students across its South Texas campus while competing in the Southland Conference, where the men's tennis program operates during the spring season typical of collegiate tennis schedules. As a relatively new Division I program entering its second decade of operations, UTRGV competes within an evolving athletic structure that continues developing its tennis infrastructure and roster depth.

The Vaqueros men's tennis program represents the university's commitment to building competitive teams across multiple sports in the Rio Grande Valley region. Operating with coaching staff guidance, the team develops student-athletes from throughout Texas and beyond while balancing the academic mission of a comprehensive public institution. Spring-season competition within the Southland Conference provides consistent match play and conference championships opportunities that help build program consistency and player development in a regional context increasingly focused on NCAA Division I advancement and stability.
